Gabriela De Avila’s practice focuses on complex commercial and business litigation, securities litigation, professional liability claims, and insurance coverage. She also has experience in corporate law, with an emphasis in business incorporation and Intellectual Property protection.
Before joining our firm, she gained substantial experience working as an associate at an Am Law 200 firm. Ms. De Avila earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Laws (L.L.M.) degrees from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was actively involved with the Florida Pro Bono Law School and the Safe Passage Project. She participated in various student associations, including the Intellectual Property Law Society, Miami Technology Law Club, Hispanic Law Student Association, Miami Law International Arbitration Society, First-Generation Law Student Association, and St. Thomas More Catholic Society. She received the CALI Excellence Award in Trademark Management and Business Strategy.
Ms. De Avila is also a licensed attorney in Colombia, where she served as a Foreign Investment Legal Advisor, specializing in Corporate Law, Contracts, Compliance, Data Privacy, and Intellectual Property. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from la Universidad del Norte, where she was Dean’s Fellow and Vice Editor for the Law Students’ Law Review, earning a scholarship for her academic achievements. Ms. De Avila is an accomplished participant of the UBA-Rosario International Arbitration Moot Court Competition. Fluent in Spanish, she brings a valuable international perspective to our team.
